Summer Study on the Patio

What does it take to fuel a faith that burns bright, no matter what?

At different times in our spiritual journey, we may discover that we've somehow developed apathy toward the things of God. Instead of being fueled by spiritual passion, our faith seems to be running on autopilot--or maybe sputtering to a halt as we seek excuses to avoid spiritual engagement.

Through this six-week study, your eyes will be opened to the distractions that can undermine your interest in the things of God, and you'll discover practical steps you can take to ignite a fire that will propel you toward a deeper, more meaningful faith.

The book, "Ignite Your Passion for God” will provide the context for our study. There won’t be any homework. Just come each week with your book, and we will work through the text and discussion questions.

Sessions will take place from 7-8pm each Wednesday from May 22- June 26. We’ll gather on the Patio at the Chippewa Campus. The cost is $8 for the book, which we will order for you upon registration.

Summer Podcast Discussions

Can Christians disagree on cultural matters while keeping the gospel central?

We’ll find out this summer during our three-week podcast series. The format is simple: We’ll listen to a podcast at home and we’ll discuss it when we gather at church. The vision is simple, too: We must think critically our current cultural moment, but we must seek God’s wisdom for the best way to engage in the world.

Our desire is to unite in Christ and remain winsome, even charitable, as we explore culturally relevant issues through a biblical lens. Not sure what a podcast is? No worries. We’ll be happy to show you how to access the materials we’ll be using.

Our study begins on Tuesday, July 9. All the sessions are free and we’ll provide child care for a suggested donation. Here are the times we’ll gather:

Tuesday Mornings — 10-11am

Tuesday Evenings — 7-8pm

– SERVING OTHERS –

Dignity Ministry
Dignity robes meet on the third Wednesday. Dignity quilts meet on the second and fourth Tuesdays. Also, we meet on the fourth Tuesday from 12:00-3:00 pm to sew hats, pillows and seat belt pads.

This ministry serves the needs of cancer patients by making items to comfort them. Dignity Robes provides modesty for women undergoing breast and lung cancer radiation treatments, while Dignity Hats offers hats and turbans for patients. Dignity Quilts sews quilts for patients to use during treatment. We also make small pillows to ease the aches and discomfort patients might experience during treatments. All items benefit patients at Heritage Valley, AHN Beaver, Hillman Cancer Beaver, Dialysis Clinic Chippewa and DaVita Clinic in Moon.

Take-home kits are available for those who want to work at home. If you would like to serve in this ministry, contact Tamara Price at 724.777.1946.
